SimpleXYZ Virtual Show Room
Evaluate SimpleXYZ with your own specimens
Send us your samples and connect remotely to a SimpleXYZ system, live. You choose how to take part: operate the equipment yourself, as if you were in front of the microscope, or simply observe the process. In both cases a specialist assists you throughout the session. Then continue on your own with annotation, model training and inference on the WNK Platform, the same workflow you will use with your own system.
Request your evaluation- First session free1 or 2 standard slides (75 × 25 mm).
- About 55 minutesAbout 10 minutes for specimen placement and focusing, plus up to approximately 45 minutes of image acquisition (typically 2,000 to 3,000 images at about 1 image per second).
- Live, then on your ownImage acquisition live and remote: you control the equipment or just observe, as you choose, assisted by a specialist throughout. Annotation and model training on your own, online, on the WNK Platform, free of charge for 2 weeks from the day of the session.
- Shipping at your expenseShipping to us and, if you want your specimens back, the return.
How it works
From your request to the final inference session, in four steps.
- 1
Request
Describe your specimens and the aims of your evaluation in the form below. We review your request and reply within 2 business days.
- 2
Ship
You receive the link to the Sample Declaration Form by e-mail as soon as you submit your request. We then send you the shipping instructions and agree a date for the session. Do not ship anything before you receive the instructions.

Live acquisition
The images of your specimens are acquired live over a remote connection. You choose whether you control the equipment yourself, as if you were present, or only observe the process. In both cases a Winkoms specialist places your specimen and prepares the equipment, and is with you throughout the capture to answer any questions you may have. Afterwards you receive temporary access to our server, where all the acquired images are available as a single ZIP file.

Annotate, train and infer
The WNK Platform is our web platform for labelling images, training AI models and running inference. You label the images, which generates a second ZIP with your annotations, and use it to train your model, at your own pace and without our intervention. As a reference, about 500 objects can be labelled in about 2 hours, and at least 400 labelled objects are needed to generate a model; the number you need depends on the type and parameters of your sample. We join you again for the final inference session on the WNK Platform, where you can view the masks generated by your model.

WNK Platform: labeller. You load your ZIP and annotate your images.
WNK Platform: training module (dataset, training, inference and models). The model you obtain is a demonstration of the workflow: a model valid for all your samples requires many more images, acquired and annotated with your own system. Whether the trained model file is delivered is agreed case by case; inference outside the WNK Platform is not included in this service.
What you get
- Your captured images, available to download as a single ZIP file.
- Your annotations, as a second ZIP, generated when you label the images on the WNK Platform.
- A demonstration model trained on your own images, and the masks it generates, which you see in the final inference session.
- The trained model file: whether it is delivered is agreed case by case.
What to send
Please read these conditions before requesting your evaluation.
What we accept
- Fixed, coverslip-mounted specimens on standard 75 × 25 mm microscope slides.
- Fluorescence: only samples compatible with DAPI and FITC filter sets, correctly fixed and mounted.
- Tell us the origin of your sample (animal, human, plant, cells). Human samples must be completely anonymised, with no personal data of any kind, and with consent / ethics approval in place; otherwise they are not accepted.
What we do not accept
- Fresh (unfixed) specimens of any kind.
- Samples containing any of the excluded fluorochromes: ethidium bromide, 7-AAD, propidium iodide or cadmium quantum dots (see the fluorescence section below).
- Specimens containing any contagious, infectious, biohazard or toxic material, under any circumstances, human samples included. We will reject and dispose of any specimen that does not meet this condition; the sender is responsible for the declaration.
- Slides with unsealed coverslips or in poor condition: coverslips must be sealed and intact, with no cracked or chipped slides and no uncured mounting medium or immersion oil.
How to ship
- Do not ship anything until you receive our shipping instructions.
- You receive the link to the Sample Declaration Form by e-mail when you submit your request. Fill it in, sign it and include the signed original in the package. Without it we do not accept any sample. You can also download it here: PDF · Word.
- Label each slide without personal data and ship in protective packaging. We record the condition of the slides on arrival.
- Shipping to us is at your expense, and so is the return shipping if you want to recover your specimens.
After the evaluation
- Your specimens are disposed of, or returned if you request it in the form. Returns are sent in the same packaging you used to ship them, so please use packaging that can be reused.
- Specimens that are not claimed within 4 weeks after the end of the process are disposed of.
- Your images are not used without your authorisation.
Fluorescence samples
We only image fluorescence samples that are compatible with our DAPI and FITC filter sets. No other filter sets are available.
Accepted filter sets
Samples correctly fixed and mounted, with fluorochromes that can be excited and imaged with these two sets.
Never accepted
These fluorochromes are not accepted under any condition.
Is my fluorochrome accepted?
This list is a guide. Winkoms decides on acceptance when reviewing your request, and the sender remains responsible for the declaration. Hazard classifications depend on the formulation and the batch: if your product is not in the list, or you are in doubt, send us its safety data sheet (SDS) with your request.
How your sample must be
- Fixed and dry. No live or unfixed samples, and no free liquid on the slide.
- Coverslip sealed around its whole perimeter (varnish or resin), with no uncured mounting medium or immersion oil.
- Intact glass. No cracked or chipped slides and no displaced coverslips. Slides that leak are rejected.
- Standard 75 × 25 mm slide, legibly labelled with a reference and a date, and without personal data.
- Mounting medium declared (name, manufacturer and reference), stating whether it contains sodium azide or other hazardous additives such as phenylenediamine, with its SDS attached.
- Every fluorochrome listed in the declaration. If a dye is not in the list above, attach the SDS of the actual product.
- Biological risk declared. Samples with biological agents of risk group 2 or higher are not accepted. Human samples must be completely anonymised.
- Sample Declaration Form signed and included in the package.
